Here you can see the machine quilting with metallic yarn. The rocky bits are meanderd the water is quilted with waves.
The making of Waterworld
I started with a full scale drawing of the quilt. I numbered all the parts and marked the sewing lines to get them at the right place. I drew it again at tranparent paper and glued that on freezer paper. I cut the freezer paper in seperate templates, sometimes in sewable rows.
I took all the fabrics I thought would be appropriate and arranged them.
I cut the rough forms according to the templates.
Here you can see the parts sewn with the freezer paper templates. I marked the templates at the back of the fabric and removed the paper before the sewing of the rows
I have sewn the 6 separate parts. 3 rocks and 3 shades of water. It was easy to join the parts.
